Mini-bio 2021 Psoriasis (Wake Forest) Dr. Steven Feldman is Professor of Dermatology, Pathology, and Social Sciences & Health Policy at the Wake Forest School of Medicine. He leads the Center for Dermatology Research, a health services research center whose mission is to improve the care of patients with skin disease. Dr. Feldman’s chief clinical interest is psoriasis, a chronic, physically & psychosocially disabling condition. He serves on the Medical Board of the National Psoriasis Foundation, was awarded the Foundation’s 2019 Outstanding Educator in Psoriatic Disease Award, and directed psoriasis education programs for the American Academy of Dermatology. At times, he has been rated the #1 expert in the world on psoriasis by ExpertScape.com. Feldman has done ground breaking work on patients’ adherence to their medication treatment regimens, the latter leading to the Wake Forest spin off company Causa Research. Feldman’s experiences in medicine have led him to try to see how others perceive things, leading to his book Compartments and his recent novella Bent Toward Justice. Feldman serves on the board of the North Carolina-based Voices for Justice in Palestine. His research has been published in over 1,000 Medline-reference articles. Feldman also serves as the editor of the Journal of Dermatological Treatment and the Journal of Dermatology and Dermatological Surgery and as chief medical editor of The Dermatologist. |
