Dr. Jennifer Y. Lin is a board-certified dermatologist, Associate Professor of Dermatology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine, and Director of the Melanoma Risk and Prevention Clinic at UC San Diego Health. Prior to joining UC San Diego, she served on the faculty at Harvard Medical School for 15 years and provided specialized patient care at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, and the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
Dr. Lin’s clinical practice and research focus on melanocyte biology, atypical nevi, cutaneous oncology, and the early detection and management of high-risk melanoma. She also possesses specialized expertise in laser surgery, light-based therapies, and energy-based devices for pigmentation disorders and skin rejuvenation. A frequent speaker at national and international conferences, Dr. Lin has published extensively on melanoma risk, laser therapeutics, and multicultural dermatology. She is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), the American Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery (ASLMS), and the Society for Melanoma Research.
Dr. Lin earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed her dermatology residency through the Harvard Combined Dermatology Residency Program. She completed advanced fellowship training in clinical laser and photomedicine at the Wellman Center for Photomedicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, as well as a research fellowship in melanocyte biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.
