The opportunity to present original clinical research, case series, case reports, and review articles to attendees is an integral component of the 8th Annual San Diego Dermatology Symposium™ (SDDS 2027). Selected authors will be invited to deliver oral presentations during our dedicated Top Poster Showcase. All submissions are reviewed and selected based on scientific merit, originality, and educational value to the clinical dermatology community. Encore abstracts and posters are welcome, including studies published within the preceding six months (provided appropriate journal copyright permissions have been secured).

Top Poster Invitations Announced: Tuesday, February 23, 2027
Online Display Period: Accepted digital posters will remain archived and accessible on the SDDS website at least through March 4, 2028
General Policy: All poster submission fees are non-refundable.
The Top Poster Showcase is a premier academic competition designed to highlight outstanding research and clinical observations from emerging dermatologists and trainees. Authors of selected posters will be invited to deliver an oral podium presentation during the Top Poster Showcase on the morning of Sunday, March 7, 2027.
Fee: $125 per poster
Eligibility: Medical students, dermatology residents, clinical fellows, and early-career dermatologists (graduated 2024–2026).
Poster Submission Format: Digital PDF, 1920 x 1080 resolution (16:9 widescreen, landscape orientation).
Podium Presentation Format: Selected presenters will speak from the podium using a PowerPoint slide presentation only. Do not bring a physical poster to the meeting.
Attendance & Registration Requirement: The designated presenting author must register for the conference and attend in person. The individual registered must be the person speaking at the podium; co-presenters, substitutions, and split registrations are not permitted. Travel and lodging are the sole responsibility of the presenter.
The e-Poster category provides medical students an accessible platform to publish original research, case studies, and clinical observations on the official SDDS website.
Fee: $75 per poster
Eligibility: Medical students only.
Poster Submission Format: Digital PDF, 1920 x 1080 resolution (16:9 widescreen, landscape orientation).
Display Format: e-Posters are published exclusively on the SDDS website and are not displayed or presented during the in-person conference.
Top Poster Showcase: Submissions in this category are not eligible for the Top Poster Showcase.
Attendance Policy: Submitting an e-Poster does not grant conference registration or allow in-person admission. General registration is not open to medical students, and those who submit e-Poster remain ineligible to attend the symposium.
The Industry Poster category provides pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device innovators a dedicated forum to present clinical trial data, therapeutic outcomes, and device innovations to symposium attendees.
Fee: $825 per poster
Eligibility: Pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and medical device sponsors, researchers, and industry representatives.
Poster Format & Production: Authors are solely responsible for printing and transporting a physical, rigid foam-core poster board measuring 48" W x 36" H (landscape orientation). Digital displays and paper posters requiring pins are not supported on-site.
Top Poster Showcase: Submissions in this category are not eligible for the Top Poster Showcase.
Attendance & Staffing Requirement: At least one contributing author must register for the conference and attend in person. During the designated Saturday morning Industry Poster Break, at least one registered representative must be stationed at the physical poster board to engage with attendees.
The Attending Physician/NP/PA Poster category offers practicing clinicians an established forum to present clinical observations, novel diagnostic insights, and real-world therapeutic outcomes to symposium colleagues.
Fee: $500 per poster
Eligibility: Practicing dermatologists, primary care physicians, dermatology nurse practitioners, and physician assistants.
Display Format: Submissions are featured as physical on-site displays during designated poster sessions and are published on the official SDDS website. Specific display locations and schedule details will be coordinated upon acceptance.
Poster Format & Production: Authors are solely responsible for printing and transporting a physical, rigid foam-core poster board measuring 48" W x 36" H (landscape orientation). Digital displays and paper posters requiring pins are not supported on-site.
Top Poster Showcase: Submissions in this category are not eligible for the Top Poster Showcase.
Attendance & Registration: The presenting author must register for the symposium and attend in person to participate in on-site presentation opportunities. Submission fees do not include symposium registration or admission.
Multiple Submissions: There is no restriction on the number of abstracts an individual or organization may submit. Each distinct abstract requires an individual submission form and fee.
Registration Policy: For all categories involving in-person presentation or physical display, each individual poster must have at least one registered conference attendee affiliated with that specific project.
Scientific Integrity & Commercial Bias: Content must remain balanced, evidence-based, and free of commercial bias. Generic or scientific compound names must be used rather than commercial brand names throughout the abstract, poster, and slides. If reference to a trade name is necessary for clarity, it may appear only once parenthetically following the first mention. Any commercial underwriting or corporate financial support must be clearly disclosed.
Copyright & Permissions: By submitting, authors grant the Dermatology Research and Education Foundation non-exclusive rights for educational distribution, website archiving, and symposium marketing. Authors retain underlying copyright and full rights for future journal publication.
